The Fellsman is a high level traverse covering more than 60 miles over very hard rugged moorland. The event climbs over 11,000 feet in its path from Ingleton to Threshfield in the Yorkshire Dales.

I'm in :)

I wasn't going to enter - but it's the 50th anniversary event and it's going to sell out very quickly by the looks of things... Plus I met a few people at the Brecon 40 in December who seemed to think that I'd enjoy it - I don't know what gave them that idea?

I don't expect anyone else is going to be daft enough to come along for this - I reckon it'll take me 15-17 hours based on what I've been told  Add that into a 500-mile round trip to get there and back and it's going to be an epic weekend.

It should make for a good race report though...

But it doesn't finish until tomorrow, or is that only the slower runners?

Yes I think that is how it works. I gather it was abandoned overnight to people getting hypothermic

I'm alive - just...

You're right Dom - the race was abandoned, but I finished in 17hrs 15min-ish. I 'think' our group was the last-in before the marshals stopped people at checkpoints.

Absolutely brutal day, massive headwind all the way, blizzards, crazy terrain and my left shoe disintegrated at 28 miles, (7 hours) so I ran for 10 hours with a shoes held together with a bit of string!

I was a mess when I finished, and my feet are in tatters! Still, I've now got the 7 points I need to qualify for UTMB in 2013 :)

Garmin up to 15hrs08

I'll do a long blog entry before the pain subsides to remind me in case I decide to enter next year...

Great time Guy, if it was anything like Mynydd Troed, that's an amazing effort.
