Best 8 from the 17 listed races plus the option to include:
Any ParkRun 5K - points awarded based upon fastest times.
Any Marathon - points awarded based upon fastest times.
Any 1/2 Marathon; excluding Gloucester, Chippenham, Torfaen - points awarded based upon fastest times.
Note that for the 'Self Transcendence 1 mile - 24th July 2009', this is a team relay race, club championship points awarded based on fastest official times.
Best 5 from the 8 listed races to count.
To be eligible for points in the Road and Off-road club championships you must:
If the race uses 'chip timing' then the time used for the championships will be the 'chip time'.
In the event of a championship race clashing with a Gwent League race, the Gwent league race will take precedence and an alternative Championship event will be sought if possible. A prime example of this is the Sodbury Slog clashing with the Bath Gwent League fixture.
It is the runners responsibility to ensure that they are credited with the correct points, times and poistions in all club championships.
There are 8 races in the series with the best 6 over the course of the year to count for championship points. Usually over a distance of 4 miles. Awards are made at the end of the series. There is no entry fee and all members are welcome. Non-members are also welcome, although they cannot score points in the club handicap championship.
Slower runners will start first with faster runners following at appropriate intervals. With the objective that all will finish at about the same time. It's all very informal and the key objective is fun allied with some exercise. At the end of the year consideration will be given to making an award to the person who gets lost the most times!
