Register at Blackweir Tavern, North Rd, Cardiff http://tinyurl.com/BlackweirTavern from 18:30, parking is free in the car parks alongside North Rd from 18:00.

£6 Affiliated, £8 Unaffiliated. These races are an exceptionally worthy cause as they raise money for Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help as explained here http://www.ssafa.org.uk/

The race route is here http://connect.garmin.com/activity/33840924  The start is at approx the 2.3KM point on the parkrun course opposite Sophia Gardens, the finish is on the cycle path level with the Blackweir Tavern so the course is 1 and a half laps.

This is the third race of the 2010 series, previous race results are

This is a race that finishes at a PUB  =  post-race BEER [or soft drink] and socialising!

With large plasma screens for people who can't tear themselves away from the box for too long, actually we were able to watch a Golden League athletics meeting there after one race last year which made a nice change.

The SSAFA TV's post-race were also the tellers of this memorable game in 2005:

It was awesome!

The May 2007 race was also a notable day as that was the one I came last in (and got Lyme Disease).  Happy days!

All joking aside about their appalling lack of race publicity, lets see plenty of support for this race on Wednesday please.

Come on ladies - first female V35 is up for grabs?!

Wendy and I have done the honours...who's next in the line of San Dom winners?

I shall be condemned to another boring treadmill run in a hot hotel gym on Weds Sad

Dee just said he's coming along, I don't know if he's in low 17s fitness yet.

Good evening's racing (apart from the stayaways . . .  boo, hiss !)

Steve 16:39
Dee 17:30 (estimated, finished like a scalded Usain Bolt according to several observers)
Glyn 18:28
Paul Dawes 18:50
Ron 18:58
Me 19:42
Jim 20:20 ?

Alan provided the "dig in" support.

Good to see lots of former regulars back.

Ron won V60 and the V60 Series, Glyn won first V45 on the night and controversially I was awarded V45 series winner, which of course should have been Glyn's, I offered him the £15 but he's too kind for that so I'm going to give it to that well-known charity. . . Inov8
There were no V35 female series prizes awarded due to nobody doing all three races, a lesson there about turning up.

Well done everyone, very fast times there. Dee's sprint finish is certainly worth watching, I've seen it a few times at Gwent League.

It's far easier and cheaper to just buy 3 bottles of wine for a tenner  Tongue

The series prize is £15, so you just have to win one bottle to break even
