The Mile Time Trial has got a bit out of synch and Ron looked so disappointed not to have it last week that we'll do a February one this week, so

1 Mile Time Trial
6 * 600 with the usual rest of let's see how slowly we can get around to the 200M point.

Quite fancy disobeying meso cycle 2 and doing some fast running. Will have to see if I can rearrange my scheduled Wednesday night 15 miler though.

"Pentapeptides" is what they say in shampoo adverts to make products sound "Sciencey", I was just joining in with your talk of Mitochondria  Smiley

You may mock, but meso cycle 1 lowered my and Jerome's 8 mile PBs by 3 minutes and allowed us to steal the Roadent's beer.

Of course not. If not for our improvement we would have been nowhere near them with or without the Doc.

cheers will check that out, i've read a few books and so far "the competitive runners handbook" by bob glover is the best book i've read.  covers 5k to marathon seems spot on so far.
i think Ed recommended it ages ago.

If anyone wants to borrow a copy of Advanced Marathoning let me know as Fran has it. She followed it one year for London training, but the particular plan did not suit her so changed to a Runners World one (1996 RW magazine).
